Hi I'm Casey!!
I'm an artist. I do tattoos for most of my living, and I'm also interested in puppetry, printmaking, chainmaille & leatherworking, and mixed media art. I currently live in Chicago, in the Uptown neighborhood.
I'm self-taught as a tattoo artist. I've been tattooing more or less full time for about 2 years now, and previous to that I spent about 4 years on and off doing tattoos as a side job while studying biology and art in college and then working full time in fisheries conservation and later a genetics lab.
I make tattoos mainly with a rotary machine, but I sometimes return to my handpoke roots for smaller stippled pieces and delicate work on the fingers or ears. I love to work in many different styles, but some of my favorites are full color american traditional, thick line illustrative greyscale, and abstract large scale blackwork. Some of my favorite subject matter is biological illustrations (plants! critters! bones!) shiny objects(knives! chains! pearls!) and anything that is creepy and/or wet.
